Pre-K is the entry point to school for our youngest minds with that comes first days that are filled with emotions for students, parents, and teachers alike. These emotions range from excitement to fear. Mix in a pandemic and you pretty much have a whirlwind of thoughts. That was all put to ease upon meeting Mrs.Heard. Her interactions with my son put me at ease. Walking hand in hand to great the other children. I though for sure he would look back and want me, but instead there stood a brave pre-K student and his gentle guiding teacher. I then filled with more emotions. Several hours past and it was time to pick up my son. He beaned with joy upon seeing me. Mrs.Heard took the time to come over and update me in person on how great of a job he did. Her excitement was infectious. I can’t wait to see how his teacher will help him throughout the year, but first impressions are everything and I know everything will be alright. I hope that Mrs. Heard, as well as her teachers-aid, Mrs.Pyles, are recognized as TEAchers 2021. Sincerely, first time pre-K mom.
