Mrs. Huffman has always cared tremendously for her students. She has such a passion for teaching. I met her when I was a freshman in high school and she showed me what a joy it could be to write. A few years later she became my teacher. Not many teachers were as enthusiastic as she was while teaching a lesson. You could tell it was her passion. She also helped me find volunteer opportunities when needed, she was always there to help. When I had life-changing circumstances my senior year of high school, she was there for me. She talked me through tears and still supported me. I became a teenage mother. I’ll never forget her instilling a love of poetry in me. Years later, she gifted my daughter a book of poems by Vachel Lindsay. Now I’ve been able to share my love of writing and poetry with my daughter. Mrs. Huffman made a lasting impact on my life and was my favorite teacher. She went above and beyond, just as many other teachers often do. I thank Mrs. Huffman and every teacher that has made such positive impressions and impacts on so many students.
