Mrs. King has worked very hard to unite her 5th grade class Im feeling like they are Family in this very difficult time for adults to navigate, let alone children. She reminds them that they are safe and loved in her classroom and frequently reads them the book, Our Class is Family by Shannon Olson. It teaches acceptance of all and helps them feel secure. I believe Mrs. King needs a big hug herself for the struggles she has found herself dealing with . Remote learning, in person learning, masks, social distancing. She keeps a smile daily in her eyes for her kids. She is loved by her class. She truly makes them feel like family especially the ones who struggle with rough hone lives, being a minority , those with disabilities. And the under privileged. This honor would be another way she could bless her class!
