This teacher is my sister! Lauren has always wanted to be a teacher and worked extremely hard to get where she is today! Her first year of teaching didn’t go exactly as planned- COVID hit and she was thrown through a loop trying to create activities and foster learning at a distance for such a young age group. I know it hurt both her and her students when they unknowingly said goodbye for the year. She made many phone calls and waved through windows to comfort those little ones that missed her so much. She began her second year of teaching and is still facing similar issues. She continues to work hard every day to teach those young kids; all while wearing a mask and social distancing. I know my little sister is a fantastic teacher and I wish this pandemic wasn’t her first taste of teaching but I know she will make it through and her class is so lucky to have her!
