Ms.Porter is an exceptional and caring teacher who takes the initiative to get to know her students and families on a personal and professional level. Ms. Porter is not only dedicated to the health and wellness of all of her students, throughout the entire past year, Ms. Porter also took the initiative to check on her students by driving by to check on the needs of her students and families from all walks of life. Ms. Porter is also a single mother who shares her time with her young son, Liam. When incidents transpires at school whether good or bad and Ms. Porter knows the student or students involved, she immediately looks for the student(s) and meet them where they are to get the root of the issue because she knows them and has fostered a teacher/student relationship where students open up to her about their feelings, stressors, and life in general. Ms. Porter is so deserving of this award and so much more!!
