Melanie Butcher is the engine behind an amazing vocal music program at Macomb Junior and Senior High Schools. She has worked tirelessly to keep those choirs learning and growing safely in the face of COVID 19. This means singing in a circus tent on school grounds. It means planning and creating meaningful lessons that her students can do remotely or when they meet with her virtually.
Im a parent with students in her program, and Ive seen the impact her hard work has had not just on my childrens learning, but on their emotional well being. As my daughter says Mrs. Butchers class is the reason I smile at school this year.
